Trello App Review

Reviews

Trello is a tool that lets you organize anything with boards, lists, and cards. It’s perfect for personal and work projects, with features like intuitive drag-and-drop, due dates, labeling, and comments.

Features of the Trello app

  • Intuitively organize projects and tasks.
  • Create boards to manage different projects and create lists to organize the tasks.
  • Upload files and attach comments to tasks.

Trello is a leading project management app used by millions of people worldwide to manage their projects. It combines the best aspects of a task list with a traditional whiteboard. Trello is based on kanban principles, which are an effective system for managing projects. Trello is used by individuals, small businesses, and large organizations.

The software is designed to be used on desktop computers, laptops, and mobile devices. Users can access Trello through a browser or by downloading the app. As of 2016, Trello had more than 10 million users, but it is estimated that the number has increased since then. Users can create a free account or a paid account that offers some advantages over a free account, such as a larger number of integrations and the ability to add collaborators.

Trello is designed to be used to organize a variety of projects. Projects can be simple tasks or something more complex, such as a business plan. Users can add cards to a project’s board to represent tasks or ideas. Project managers can move cards from one list to another. The board will show the current state of the project, while a card’s details will show the card’s contents. Users can add comments to a card and attach files to a card. Users can also share boards with other users if they are collaborating on a project.

Trello is designed to help individuals work smarter, but businesses can also use it to help employees work better. For example, business leaders can use Trello to manage their team’s projects. You can use Trello on a single computer or multiple devices.

Why to choose/Best for:

  • Collaboration features let you see your team’s schedules and lists so everyone remains in the loop
  • There are a free version and two tiers of paid versions
  • These include Business Class and Enterprise
  • The paid versions have more powerful features for business, but the free version still has a generous amount of features for users with simple needs
  • Trello integrates with many other popular apps, including cloud storage providers such as Google Drive and Dropbox and other productivity apps like Join

Trello FAQ

Trello FAQ

  • Deleting a board

In order to delete a board, you’ll need to close the board first. Closing a board is similar to archiving a card—you can leave it in your “Closed Boards” list if you think you might want to use it again someday, or you can delete the board permanently once it’s closed.

Deleting a board is permanent, and deleted boards cannot be recovered.

    Closing a board

Close a board by selecting “Close Board” from the board menu (open the menu, click the “More” button to expand the menu options). You have to be an admin of a board to close it. In Business Class teams, team admins can also close boards.

Close a board from the board’s menu.

Once a board is closed, it is no longer visible in your Board’s list and can only be accessed by clicking the Boards button at the top left of your Trello page and selecting “See closed boards…”

Access closed boards from your board’s drawer.

    Deleting a board

To delete a board that you’ve already closed, first open your Closed Boards list. From there, you’ll see a list of your closed boards, with a “Delete” button next to the “Re-Open” button for any board that you’re an admin for. You can click on that button to delete the board permanently.

You can also delete your closed boards here:  https://trello.com/support/delete-board

    Recovering a deleted board

Deleting a board is permanent, and deleted boards cannot be recovered.

    Stickers

    Board backgrounds

To upload your own custom background, go to the Menu on the right side of your board, and select “Change Background”. Click the + button in the “Custom” section to upload your own image.

    Larger attachments

You can upload files up to 250MB. To attach files to cards, select a file via “Attach File…” on the back of the card, or drag and drop from your desktop. The 250MB is for individual files, not a total limit, so you can have multiple large files on a single card or board.

    Additional Butler Features and Quota

Gold unlocks Butler’s Personal Quota with 200 command runs per month pooled across all boards, and the Calendar and Due Date tabs become available.

    Uploading custom emoji

To upload emoji, open the comment field on a card, click the menu button in the bottom right-hand corner, and select “Upload Emoji”. You will then be able to upload and name your custom emoji.

    Saved search

To save a search, enter your search terms and operators, click “Save this Search”, name your search and then click “Save”. Click “Back to Saved Searches” to view your saved searches. To execute a saved search, simply click it.

    The Billing page

You can see when your account will renew, update your credit card info, see billing history, and so on in the “Billing” section of your user profile. Just go to  https://trello.com/your/billing to access it. If you signed up via credits, you can check when your credits expire and you can enter a credit card and sign up for a subscription. • Archiving and deleting cards

    Archiving cards

Archive cards by clicking “Archive Card” in the Actions menu on a card’s back. Or you can also select “Archive” from the card menu (click the pencil icon that appears on hover). You can also archive with the “c” keyboard shortcut when hovering your mouse over a card.

FAQ: Will archived cards be deleted eventually?

Archived cards will remain archived indefinitely. Although you or another board member can choose to delete those cards or send them back to the board at any time, they won’t be deleted automatically. You can leave them archived for as long as you like and still retrieve them later whenever you need them.

    Unarchiving cards

On the board menu, click “More” then “Archived Items”, find the card and click “Send to Board”.

The search bar will bring up a list of archived cards that match your terms. You can use the same special operators as the search bar—see Searching for Cards (All Boards) for a full list.

    Deleting cards

To delete a card, you must first archive it. Click the card to open it, then choose “Archive” from the bottom right. After archiving, a new “Delete” option will be available. Because deleting a card is unrecoverable and permanent, this requires a confirmation click.
Deleting a card is permanent, and deleted cards can’t be restored. If you just want to clear the card off your board, you can archive that card instead, so that you can access it again later, if needed.
